Reaction to Unforgiven and Do the Right Thing

I enjoyed both of the movies, Unforgiven and Do The Right Thing, for different reasons. I enjoyed the film Unforgiven because of the way that people make decisions to do something or not do something. For example, William Munny finally makes the decision to kill people in a village after Schofield Kid told him about the opportunity. At first, Munny does not want to make the decision to kill the people because he does not believe that he could be a killer. However, he eventually decides to kill because he is angry with his life and he wants to do a favor for the Schofield Kid. It is interesting that Unforgiven shows decision making because it relates to real life. In real life, people are always faced to making decisions. It is always hard for people to make decisions because sometimes people can go from thinking one choice is better to thinking that the other choice or choices are better. I really enjoy movies about decision making mainly because this concept easily applies to real life.
I enjoyed Do the Right Thing because it shows how morality can be extremely controversial. Morality has a different meaning for different people which is clearly shown in this movie. In this movie, Sal and Mookie's friend, Radio Raheem, do not get along because Sal refuses to put African American faces on his wall of fame. Radio brings in a loud boombox playing his favorite music partly because he wants to punish Sal. Sal hates Radio's music and eventually decides to destroy his boombox because he is so fed up with his loud music in his pizza place. Mookie sides with Radio and decides to get revenge at Sal because Radio is Mookie's good friend. Mookie decides to throw a trash bin at Sal's place and burn Sal's pizza parlor as a result of this. Mookie's actions are extremely controversial because some people say that Mookie's actions could have been avoided while others believe that Mookie did the right thing by harming Sal's place through the use of violence for revenge. Some people believe Mookie was moral when others believe that Sal was moral for what he did. Each of these actions in the movie Do the Right Thing show how the discussion of morality can be very controversial.
